An integrated bipolar implantable medical electrical lead (300), which may be employed by a cardiac defibrillator, has a single low voltage electrode (341) and a single high voltage electrode (330) and em- ploys a relatively robust and fail-safe configuration of three conduc- tors (LVC1, LVC2, HVC). Each of the three conductors extends within an individual lumen (371, 372, 373) of a tri-lumen insulative body (37) of the lead.
