PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OCT apparatus capable of acquiring highly accurate information about a subject in different depth ranges, using a simple structure.SOLUTION: An OCT apparatus splits light from a light source into measurement light and reference light, projects the measurement light onto a subject, and detects interference light between a return of the measurement light from the subject and the reference light. The OCT apparatus includes a dispersion unit and an information generation unit. The dispersion unit relatively changes a dispersion characteristic of a measurement light optical path which is an optical path of the measurement light and a dispersion characteristic of a reference light optical path which is an optical path of the reference light, according to an operation mode corresponding to a depth range.
