PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize appropriate STC adjustment by the simple operation of the system.SOLUTION: An STC memory 22 stores a plurality of STC data per probe 10 type for use of a probe 10. An STC curve formation section 20 reads out an STC data from the STC memory 22 upon operation, etc. of the system by a user and makes an interpolation processing, etc. based on the read STC data to produce an STC curve that smoothly changes its gain with the depth of an ultrasonic beam. The gain adjustment section 18 makes the gain adjustment of a received beam signal in accordance with the produced STC curve.
