The transmission output area is operatively coupled to the coupler, and the transmission is configured to change the speed of the coupler relative to the motor output area. The motor output area and the transmission input area are connected to each other at the motor-transmission interface, and the motor-transmission interface includes the motor-transmission backlash, so that the drive of the motor output area within the motor-transmission backlash drives the rotation of the rotary surgical end effector.
