PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmologic apparatus having a vertical movement mechanism allowing a favorable observation and photographing.SOLUTION: The ophthalmologic apparatus includes: a movable section on which an apparatus body for observing or photographing a subject's eye, is mounted； the vertical movement mechanism having a drive section for vertically moving the movable section； an operation member to be operated by an examiner for vertically moving the movable section； a detection section for detecting an operation signal of the operation member； and drive control means that converts the operation signal detected by the detection section into a drive signal for vertically moving the movable section and causes the drive section to drive based on the drive signal. The drive section includes a motor having a hollow section around a rotation shaft thereof, and the control means controls the rotation of the motor on the basis of the drive signal.
