PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection system, a detection device, a notification device, a detection method, and a program which accurately detect user's motion associated with eating and drinking.SOLUTION: A detection system 10 comprises a sensor, acquisition means 100, and notification means 200. The sensor is fitted to the neck of a user to detect the movement of the throat of the user. The acquisition means 100 acquires motion information indicating a motion associated with the eating and drinking by the user, on the basis of the movement of the throat of the user detected by the sensor.
