Provided herein are compositions and methods for reducing neurogeneration in a patient suffering from Parkinsons Disease, comprising administration of a composition comprising CoQ10 and polyoxyethanyl-a-tocopherylsebacate (PTS). The compositions of the invention have been shown to penetrate the blood-brain barrier in mammals, thus effecting delivery of CoQ10 directly to brain tissue. Beneficial effects of the treatment have been observed at lower doses of CoQ10 than previously described.
