A guidance device and the like are provided which can stably guide and immobilize a capsule medical device in a liquid regardless of individual differences between capsule medical devices. A guidance device 20 includes a magnetic field generation unit 25 that generates a magnetic field to be applied to a permanent magnet 18 provided in a capsule endoscope 10 and a guidance controller 261 that controls the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation unit 25. The guidance controller 261 switches between: a first control mode that causes the magnetic field generation unit 25 to generate a magnetic field that guides the capsule endoscope 10 in a direction in which the capsule endoscope 10 moves and comes into contact with an upper or a lower boundary surface of the liquid a second control mode that continuously changes the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation unit 25 so that the capsule endoscope 10 shifts from a state in which the capsule endoscope 10 is in contact with the boundary surface to a state in which the capsule endoscope 10 is not in contact with the boundary surface and a third control mode that controls the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation unit 25 so that the capsule endoscope 10 is held in the liquid.
