The present invention relates to production of renewable fuels and fuelcomponents fromplant oil originating from at least one Brassica species, where said Brassicaspecies, dopedwith at least one nitrogen-fixing bacteria is cultivated, in a rotating mannerby alternatingwith at least one nitrogen-fixing plant species, plant oil is obtained fromthe Brassicaspecies, and converted to renewable fuel or renewable fuel components. Theinventionalso relates to a method for reducing nitrate release in renewable fuelproduction. Further,the invention relates to a method for reducing greenhouse gases in renewablefuelproduction.
