The present invention relates to a thermal treatment device intended to be joined to a container (3) loaded with logs, having an inlet pipe (1) for pressurized water vapour. Said thermal treatment device is particular in that it has at least one, preferably two, substantially rectilinear tube(s) (2) provided with a plurality of openings distributed lengthwise and circumferentially, said at least one tube (2) being intended to be introduced from the rear into said container (3) loaded with logs and to be fed with said pressurized water vapour. The present invention also relates to a method that can be implemented by means of a device according to the invention.
