The invention relates to a type of solution for peritoneal dialysis, comprising Aliskiren or one of the derivatives thereof, at least one electrolyte, at least one buffer solution, and at least one osmotic agent. The invention reduces the toxicity of commonly used peritoneal dialysis solutions on mesothelial peritoneal cells. The invention also relates to the use of this type of solution for processes requiring peritoneal dialysis, such as in the case of chronic renal failure
