Systems and techniques are described herein for an insulation system thatutilizesa treated gas, such as water vapor, to fill an at least partially transparentcavity that is part of astructure, to provide insulating properties and/or changes in exposure to thesun for a space,proximate to the structure. In some aspects, an insulation system may includea treated gasgeneration system, which includes at least one of a heating element, a coolingelement, or adiffusing element for treating the gas. The system may also include a gasmovement system incommunication with the gas generation system. The system may further include agas conduitsystem in communication with the gas movement system, where the gas movementsystemcauses the treated to be injected into the gas conduit system to changeinsulation and/or sunexposure characteristics of a space in proximity to the gas conduit system.
