PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure steam sterilizer which supplies the inside of a chamber with a prescribed quantity of water, heats and evaporates the water by a heater and brings the inside of the chamber into a high pressure steam state to perform sterilization, and employs a flow rate sensor to measure the quantity of the supplied water in the chamber, and which solves the following problem: when the flow rate sensor generating pulses according to passing of fluid is employed, the flow rate sensor generates pulses even by the flow of air and if the water supply is terminated when the counted number of pulses reaches the prescribed number, the prescribed quantity of water is not supplied and the high pressure steam sterilizer can not perform sterilization at a normal condition, the high pressure steam sterilizer solving the problem by employing the flow rate sensor which does not count the number of pulses generated according to air flow and counts the number of pulses generated by only water flow, and judging that the quantity of water reaches the prescribed quantity on the basis of the counted number of pulses generated by only water flow.
SOLUTION: The high pressure steam sterilizer does not substantially count the pulses when the air passes, through the use of a prescribed threshold by utilizing a difference between the pulse width to be issued from the flow rate sensor when only the water passes and the pulse width to be issued from the flow rate sensor when the air passes.
