This invention concerns the self-tanning cosmetic product in a form of a cosmetic set: a base and a separately supplied active substance, dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which is added in the amount of 2% to 16% by weight in proportion to the total weight of the final composition. The base is an inert, or cosmetic or dermatological substance. Optionally, there is a possibility to add an additional substance to the developed final cosmetic composition, or to use the base which contains an additional substance which has self-tanning, bronzing, moisturizing or oiling properties or properties protecting the skin from UV radiation or fragrance or mattifying or smoothing the skin. The invention also concerns the method of application of the self- tanning cosmetic product which consists in the fact that the active substance, dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which is separately supplied with the set shall be added in the quantities of 2% to 16% by weight in proportion to the total weight of the final composition at the moment the user prepares the application dose. The user determines the proportion ratio while preparing the application dose, which is prepared before its application and possibly supplements the final composition with additional substances.La présente invention concerne un produit cosmétique auto-bronzant sous la forme d'un ensemble cosmétique : une base et une substance active alimentée séparément, de la dihydroxyacétone (DHA), qui est ajoutée dans la quantité de 2 % à 16 % en poids proportionnellement au poids total de la composition finale.
