In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a surgical cliphavingfirst undeployed shape, and a second deployed shape for fastening tissuetogether. Theclip includes a connecting member having two ends and first and secondflexible jointsone attached to each end of the connecting member. The clip further includesfirst andsecond legs each having a proximal and distal end. Wherein each of theproximal ends ofthe legs are attached to the joints. The joints are substantially moreflexible than the legsand the connecting member.
