The surgical device includes a housing that includes at least two drivers. The surgical device also includes an anvil that can be mechanically attached to the housing and can be moved between an open position and a closed position with respect to the housing. The first driver operates so as to move the anvil to an intermediate position between the open position and the closed position with respect to the housing.
