A bristled dental floss 130 comprising an elongated flexible floss core 132, which may be tubular, a cord, a tape, or rectangular, circular or oval in cross section, a plurality of floss bristles 138 arranged in at least one elongated group 140 and an undulating pattern 150 formed by an outer side of the plurality of bristles, in the longitudinal direction 134. The undulating pattern may comprise peaks or ridges 152, with troughs or valleys 154 between the ridges, and sloped sections 156 between adjacent pairs of ridges and troughs. The ridges and or troughs may be V-shaped. Multiple groups 140 may extend from the floss surface 136 angularly spaced apart from each other with an elongate gap 142 between groups. Multiple bristle groups 140 can be arranged into bristle row 144 and there may be a plurality of bristle rows. There may be alternating bristled sections 130a and non-bristled sections [130b, figure 1].
