A method for treatment of a human patient for Alzheimers disease (AD) comprises sequentially administering multiple doses of a recombinant, fully human, anti-amyloid beta monoclonal antibody to the patient. In preferred embodiments, the antibody is administered in increasing amounts over a period of time. In preferred embodiments, the susceptibility of the patient to amyloid related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) is thereby reduced.
