The mowing-cutting device has a rotatable wood chip cutting disk (1), where a chopping device (3) is arranged on the cutting disk. A wood chip disposal device (22) is arranged in a discharge area of the wood chips. An arrangement is provided for approximately vertical orientation of a cut plant. A feed device is provided in the area of action of the chopping device. An independent claim is also included for a method for harvesting large breed plants and trees.
