The invention relates to a system for ultrasonic imaging of an organ in a patients body through a part of the patients respiratory tract, comprising an ultrasonic imaging device (4) to be arranged in or on the patients body, a flexible catheter (6) carrying at least one inflatable member (7) to be arranged in the respiratory tract, means (10,11) for positioning the inflatable member at a predetermined location in the respiratory tract, and means for filling the inflatable member with an ultrasonic transmission fluid through the flexible catheter. The inflatable member can be positioned in the respiratory tract by manipulating guide means (10,11) that are attached to or integrated with the flexible catheter.L’invention concerne un système d’imagerie par ultrasons d’un organe dans l’organisme d’un patient via une partie des voies respiratoires du patient, incluant un dispositif d’imagerie par ultrasons (4) destiné à être agencé dans ou sur le corps d’un patient, un cathéter souple (6) transportant au moins un élément gonflable (7) destiné à être agencé dans les voies respiratoires, des moyens (10, 11) servant à positionner ledit élément gonflable au niveau d’un emplacement prédéfini dans les voies respiratoires, et un moyen servant à remplir l’élément gonflable à l’aide d’un fluide de transmission des ultrasons par l’intermédiaire du cathéter souple.
