FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to positron emission tomography (PET). The PET system contains memory configured to continuously record discovered matching pairs of events detected by the PET detectors, a subject support to support the subject and to move in the continuous movement mode through the field of vision of the PET-detectors, a grouping unit for grouping the recorded coincident pairs into each of the plurality of spatially constrained virtual frames on the basis of time-of-flight information.
