The present invention relates to the field of animal health and in particular the causative agent of a new bacterial poultry disease caused by Gallibacteruim spp, including Gallibacterium anatis, Gallibacterium genomospecies 1 and Gallibacterium genomospecies 2. The invention provides a novel RTX toxin from said Gallibacterium species, the novel toxin being named GtxA (Gallibacterium toxin). In addition the invention provides the amino acid and nucleotide sequences of GtxA, a vaccine comprising inactivated toxoid or fragments of the toxoid as well as methods of immunizing birds to prevent said disease and to methods of diagnosing a Gallibacterium anatis infection in birds.Linvention concerne le domaine de la santé animale et, en particulier lagent cause dune nouvelle maladie bactérienne des volailles provoquée par Gallibacteruim spp, notamment Gallibacterium anatis, Gallibacterium genomospecies 1 et Gallibacterium genomospecies 2. Linvention concerne une nouvelle toxine RTX provenant de lespèce Gallibacterium, appelée GtxA (toxine Gallibacterium). Linvention concerne également les séquence dacides aminés et nucléotidiques de GtxA, un vaccin comprenant un toxoïde ou des fragments de toxoïde inactivés ainsi que des méthodes pour immuniser les oiseaux contre la maladie et des méthodes pour diagnostiquer une infection par Gallibacterium anatis chez les oiseaux.
