PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type disposable diaper, improved in fitness and leakage prevention performance in the sides of a crotch part.SOLUTION: In an underpants type disposable diaper, a recess part 13N narrower than both front and rear sides is formed on a crotch part of an absorber 13, and an interior body 10 is provided with a surplus part 19 without the absorber 13 formed on a part corresponding to the recess part 13N of the absorber 13. A non-joining part 31 where the interior body 10 and an exterior body 20 are not fixed is extended in the longitudinal direction in an area which overlaps the surplus part 19 of the interior body 10, and a joining part 32 is provided on both sides in the width direction of the non-joining part 31.
