The present invention relates to a novel use of sodium surfactin, and more particularly to a use of sodium surfactin for the treatment/improvement of inflammatory skin diseases or skin moisturizing. Sodium surfactin according to the present invention concentration dependently reduces the expression of NO or inflammatory cytokines IL-6 induced by a stimulant, and relieves skin dryness, eczema, itching, and erythema in mouse models or human experimentation. The present invention also provides a skin barrier strengthening effect and a skin moisturizing effect while not exhibiting cytotoxicity, and thus is useful as a good strategy for treating inflammatory skin diseases, which do not cause side effects.본 발명은 소듐서팩틴의 신규 용도에 대한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 소듐서팩틴의 염증성 피부 질환의 치료/개선 또는 피부 보습용 용도에 대한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 소듐서팩틴은 자극물질에 의해 유도되는 NO나 염증성 사이토카인인 IL-6의 발현을 농도의존적으로 감소시킬 뿐만 아니라, 마우스모델이나 실제 인체 적용 시험에서 피부건조증, 습진, 가려움증, 홍반 완화 등의 효과를 나타내며, 아울러 피부장벽 강화 효과와 피부 보습효과를 제공하고 세포독성을 나타내지 않는바, 부작용을 유발하지 않는 염증성 피부질환의 좋은 치료전략으로써도 유용하다.
