Disclosed is the use of mammalian colostrum-derived immunoglobulin preparation comprising antiinsulin antibodies for preparing an immuno-modulating composition for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of an immune-related disorder selected from the group consisting of obesity, insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, an autoimmune disease, graft rejection pathology, inflammatory disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, non alcoholic steatohepatitis, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, and Metabolic Syndrome, wherein said immunoglobulin preparation modulates regulatory T cells, thereby activating or inhibiting an immune response toward said disorder.
