The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating disease caused by side effects of an anticancer agent containing an extract of Sicyos angulatus as an active component. The extract of Sicyos angulatus significantly restores the survival of hematopoietic stem cells reduced by administration of anticancer agents, increases the expression level of hematopoietic related cytokines (IL-3, IL-6 and IFN-γ), relieves hematopoietic toxicity by anticancer agents of various mechanisms of action in an ex vivo model, promotes the growth and NO production of primary spleen immune cells, and thus relieves hematopoietic toxicity in an in vivo model. Therefore, the extract of Sicyos angulatus of the present invention can be used as a medicine, health functional food or anticancer adjuvant for preventing, alleviating or treating diseases caused by side effects of anticancer agents.본 발명은 가시박 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 항암제 부작용에 의한 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 가시박(Sicyos angulatus) 추출물은 항암제의 투여에 의해 감소된 조혈모세포의 생존을 현저하게 회복시키고, 조혈 관련 사이토카인(IL-3, IL-6 및 IFN-γ)의 발현량을 증가시키며, ex vivo 모델에서 다양한 작용 기전의 항암제에 의한 조혈독성을 완화시킬 뿐만 아니라, 일차 비장 면역세포의 성장 및 NO 생성을 촉진하였고, in vivo 모델에서도 조혈독성을 완화시킬 수 있는 것이다. 따라서 본 발명의 가시박 추출물은 항암제 부작용에 의한 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 의약품, 건강기능식품 또는 항암 보조제로 활용할 수 있다.
