The present invention relates to a cartridge holder for a drug delivery device, comprising:- a housing (12) extending in an axial direction (48, 50) and being adapted to receive a cartridge (30) at least partially filled with a medicament (34), said cartridge (30) being sealed near a distal end by way of a pierceable seal (42),- at least one bearing element (26, 60； 62) fixed to the housing (12), and- at least one tensioning member (28) to engage with the bearing element (26) and with the cartridge (30) in an axial direction (48, 50) for transmitting a distally directed injection force (52) from the cartridge (30) to the housing (12).
