PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric heating method for an object to be heated capable of quickly thawing frozen food for a short period of time and with excellent efficiency without overheating the surface, and also to provide a heating electrode therefor.SOLUTION: At least one of heating electrodes arrayed opposite to each other has a plurality of protrusions, and the protrusions are arranged at substantially constant intervals. When an area obtained by connecting the outer periphery of each protrusion adjacent to the protrusion is 100, the heating electrode comes into contact with the object to be heated for energization within a range where the area of surfaces in contact with an object to be heated is 40 to 75 and at a substantially uniform area ratio, thereby heating the object to be heated.
