The present invention relates to a novel dressing in the form of a self-adhesive band for use in promoting or activating hemostasis. This band is composed of a self-adhering nonwoven obtained from short conjugated fibers which have been curled. The fibers are preferably polyester. The dressing may further include an additional layer.
