The hair treatment agent of the present invention is a combination of a modified peptide having at least one of a group represented by the following formula (I) and a salt thereof as a side chain group and leucine. The content of the leucine is preferably 0.1 parts by mass or more based on 100 parts by mass of the modified peptide. As the denatured peptide, it is preferable that the main chain is a keratin. The hair treatment agent is, for example, a hair care agent or a styling agent.
