A laryngoscope comprising a body 42 including a handle. A laryngoscope blade 22 extends from a distal end of the body 42 and a display screen housing 56 extends from a proximal end of the body 42. The laryngoscope comprises at least one unitary housing component that defines at least a portion of each of the body 42, the laryngoscope blade 22 and the display screen housing 56 (fig 1). The laryngoscope may comprise a camera which sends image signals to a display screen component, the display screen component being located in the display screen housing 56. The laryngoscope blade 22 may comprise a blade portion and a camera housing portion 22, 44, which are arranged to form an L-shaped guide. The laryngoscope may comprise a microprocessor used solely to initialise the camera and the display screen.
