The invention relates to a method for registering a virtual model of a mandibular arch of an individual with a frame of reference of said individual, characterized in that it comprises - fixing a mandibular marker rigidly on the arch of the individual, said mandibular marker defining a first frame of reference, - the supply of a virtual model of the mandibular arch, - the supply of a virtual model of the mandibular marker, - the digitization of at least part of the the surface of the teeth or of a prosthetic device integral with said arch and at least a rigid part of said marker by means of an intra or extra-oral camera, so as to produce a digital recording of said parts of the mandibular arch and the marker in the same second repository, - from said recording and the virtual models of the mandibular arch and of the mandibular marker, the mapping of the digital model of the mandibular marker with the mar queur, and the virtual model of the mandibular arch with said arch, and the location of the virtual model of the mandibular arch in the first frame of reference.
