PURPOSE: A medicinal herb extract with an antiviral activity against influenza virus H1N1 is provided. CONSTITUTION: A composition with an antiviral activity against influenza contains organic solvent extract of Tussilago farfara, Prunus armeniaca, Astragalus membranaceus, or Patrinia villosa and fraction thereof. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of dipping each dry medicinal herb materials； a step of extracting at room temperature for 24 hours and filtering using Whatman filter paper no. 2； a step of concentrating the filtered material under 40°；C； a step of freeze-drying and dissolving dried extract in serum-free MEM(eagle's minimum essential medium)； and a step of filtering with 0.45 um filter and storing at 4°；C. 본 발명은 인플루엔자 바이러스 H1N1에 대하여 항바이러스 활성을 가지는 약용 식물 추출물 또는 그 분획물에 관한 것으로 관동화 꽃, 행인 종자, 황기 뿌리 패장 식물체의 메탄올 추출 후 그 분획물의 항바이러스 활성을 나타내는 뛰어난 효과가 있다.
