PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nerve growth promoter that has promotion action on nerve growth factor production and promotion action on neurite extension and contains an extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense.
SOLUTION: The nerve growth promoter contains an extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense. The extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense exhibits a maximum absorption at 280-330 nm and contains an intramolecular aromatic ring. The solution of ethyl acetate soluble component has colorability. The nerve growth promoter has high safety and has excellent promotion action on nerve growth factor production and promotion action on neurite extension.
