Suture clip appliers (e.g. 100), suture clips (e.g. 150) and methods of their use for securing sutures during an endoscopic or laparoscopic procedure are provided, wherein the method includes the steps of providing a suture clip applier (100) having a working tip (140) configured to retain and fire a suture clip (150)； providing a suture clip (150) having a biased closed configuration； loading the suture clip (150) into the working tip (140) of the clip applier (100)； translating the suture clip (150) distally relative to the working tip (140) to a first position wherein the suture clip (150) is splayed open； inserting a suture into the opened suture clip (150)； and translating the suture clip (150) distally relative to the working tip (140) such that the suture clip (150) is ejected from the working tip (140) and biased to the closed configuration to close on and to retain the suture.
