PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clinical thermometer capable of measuring the body temperature accurately while reducing the stress to a person to be measured even it is the thermometer to measure body temperature in a short time.SOLUTION: The clinical thermometer includes a measuring part 12 to be abutted on a forehead FO and having on its distal end an opening for introducing infrared rays, a grip part 20 held by a hand, and an informing part 30 indicating the body temperature. The grip part 20 is positioned on a direction to bring the measuring part 12 into contact with the forehead, and also has an outer periphery held with a forefinger FI, at least which forms an arc-shape, and the inside of the first joint of a thumb TH. On an area adjacent to the grip part 20 and closer to the measuring part 12 side than the grip part 20, a bulging part 35 having a peripheral dimension larger than the peripheral dimension of the grip part 20 is provided. The bulging part is pressed toward the forehead side with the forefinger FI and the thumb TH.
