PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely discharge bubbles by the perfusion for capturing and discharging bubbles without increasing the quantity of blood flow fed by a blood pump.
SOLUTION: The extracorporeal circulation apparatus comprises a bubble capturing device 4 having a blood inflow port and an outflow port for capturing bubbles in blood and discharging the bubbles from a bubble discharging port a bubble detection line 6a connected to the bubble discharging port a bubble detector 7 for detecting bubbles passing the bubble detection line a bubble discharging line 9 which is one channel branching from the bubble detection line a perfusion line 6b which is the other channel branching from the bubble detection line and whose diameter is narrower than that of the bubble discharging line a bubble releasing device 8 to which the downstream ends of the bubble discharging line and the perfusion line are connected a discharging line open/close part 10 for opening/closing the channel of the bubble discharging line a communicatory circuit 13 communicating with the blood pump from the bubble releasing device and a communicatory circuit open/close means 14 mounted in the communicatory circuit. When the bubble detector detects bubbles, the channel of the bubble discharging line is opened by the discharging line open/close part.
