PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical forceps for grasping, sealing and cutting tissue in a single action.SOLUTION: The forceps includes an end effector assembly, and the end effector assembly has a first jaw member 110 and a second jaw member 120, disposed in opposed relation relative to one another. One or both of the jaw members is moveable relative to the other between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position for grasping tissue therebetween. A knife bar 142 is also included along with the first jaw member 110 and second jaw member 120. The knife bar 142 is longitudinally translatable with respect to the first jaw member 110 and second jaw member 120 between a retracted position, an intermediate position, and an extended position.
