SOLUTION: There is provided a method for obtaining position and/or orientation information of a magnetic component to a magnetic measurement detector, in which the magnetic component and the magnetic measurement detector can move independently to each other to a static secondary magnetic field. The method includes a step of measuring a strength of the magnetic field and/or orientation essentially at the same time at least in a first position spatially associated with the magnetic measurement detector and in a second position apart from the first position in the presence of combination of both of a magnetic field of the magnetic component and a static secondary magnetic field, and a step of eliminating an effect of the secondary magnetic field computationally by uniting results of measurement and deriving information concerning position and/or orientation of the magnetic component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
