The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for effectively controlling temperature. The apparatus for effectively controlling temperature controls the temperature of a matching medium used in an electromagnetic imaging system in a main cistern and an auxiliary cistern at the same time to minimize a temperature deviation and shorten temperature control time. In addition, the apparatus for effectively controlling temperature prevents size and phase information of electromagnetic waves obtained in the electromagnetic imaging system from being impoverished as time passed.본 발명은 전자파 이미징 시스템에서 사용되는 정합 매질의 온도를 메인 수조와 보조 수조에서 동시에 제어함으로써 온도 편차를 최소화시키고 온도 제어 시간을 단축할 수 있으며, 또한, 전자파 이미징 시스템에서 획득된 전자파의 크기 및 위상 정보가 시간의 경과에 따라 열화되는 것을 방지할 수 있는, 효율적인 온도 제어 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
