PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling needle facilitating pull-out of an inner needle and scarcely causing accidental detachment of a protector.SOLUTION: The indwelling needle includes: an inner needle 111； an outer needle 131； an outer needle hub 132 provided at a rear end of the outer needle 131； and a needle tip protector 151 detachably engaged with the outer needle hub 132. The outer needle hub 132 includes a storage part 133 having a recessed part 133a provided at the rear end and capable of storing the needle tip protector 151. When the length of a side wall of the recessed part 133a is L1, the length of the needle tip protector 151 is L2, and an interval between the recessed part 133a and the needle tip protector 151 at the rear end of the recessed part 133a is L3, the indwelling needle satisfies a relational expression of L2-L1<；L3.
