This invention provides a coloring composition for skin make up foundation using such coloring composition, and a make up method, the composition being capable of obtaining a natural feeling of quality while a sufficient concealment is maintained. The coloring composition for skin make up of this invention is characterized in containing a non-white color material, no high refractive white pigment. When a spectroscopic reflection rate of the coloring composition is measured under the conditions set forth below, the minimum value of a spectroscopic reflection rate of light of wave length 630-700 nm from a white base is more than 75%, and the Y value on the white base is in the range of from 25 to 65.Measuring Conditions The coloring composition is dispersed in a nitrocellulose lacquer and the concentration of the coloring composition is adjusted so that the spectroscopic reflection rate of light of wave length from the white base of a black and white concealment test paper of 400nm is 10+2%, and the black and white concealment test paper is coated with the dispersion by an applicator having a clearance of 0.101mm, and the spectroscopic reflection rate is measured with a spectroscopic color tester.本發明之目的係提供可兼得保有隱蔽力及自然質感的皮膚化粧料用色料組成物、底化粧料及化粧方法。與本發明相關的皮膚化粧料用色料組成物之特徵為:含有非白色色料、不含高折射率白色顏料,且該色料組成物在下述條件下測定分光反射率時,於白底上在波長630至700nm下的分光反射率之最小值為75%以上,白色底子上的Y值在25至65的範圍內。(測定條件)將色料組成物分散在硝化纖維素漆(nitrocellulose lacquer)中後,調整色料組成物的濃度直至黑白隱蔽率試驗紙的白底上在波長400nm下之分光反射率為10±2%,使用間隔(clearance)0.101 mm的塗佈器(applicator)在黑白隱蔽率試驗紙上進行塗布,再以分光測色機測定其分光反射率。
