A method of treating a tumor in a human patient is disclosed. The method comprises co-administering to the patient: (a) a dose of 1.5 mg tivozanib per day and (b) a dose of 25 mg temsirolimus per week. In some embodiments of the invention, the tivozanib is administered on a repeating schedule of one dose per day for three weeks, followed by one week without tivozanib administration.
