PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent effective for the amelioration of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and excessive sensitivity to cold, saving many women suffered from PMS which means the syndrome such as shoulder discomfort and nausea and indefinite complaint from the ovulation to the start of menstruation and saving many women suffered from excessive sensitivity to cold regarded as the indefinite complaint characteristic to women and lack a sure treatment method because the syndrome is not diagnosed as a disease in Western medicine, and exhibiting excellent effect by using in the form of foods, food additives or medicines.
SOLUTION: The agent for the amelioration of PMS and excessive sensitivity to cold contains an aqueous extract of Monascus anka as an active component. The invention further provides an amelioration agent described in the claim 1 wherein the daily dose of the aqueous extract of Monascus anka corresponds to &ge5 g of Monascus anka.
