The invention relates to a cap removal device (1) for removing and retaining a plurality of caps (7) from a drug delivery device (10), the cap removal device (1) comprising a body (2) having a plurality of recesses (4.1, 4.2, 4.3), wherein each of the plurality of recesses (4.1, 4.2, 4.3) comprises a shape corresponding to a shape of one of the plurality of caps (7) and wherein each recess (4.1, 4.2, 4.3) is provided with an engagement member (5.1, 5.2, 5.3) adapted to engage a cap (7). Furthermore, the invention relates to a cap (7) adapted to be mounted to a distal end of a drug delivery device (10), the cap (7) comprising a distal portion (7.2) comprising a shape corresponding to a shape of a recess (4.1, 4.2, 4.3) of the cap removal device (1).
