Described are compositions and methods for inhibiting gene expression of hepatitis B virus. An RNA interference (RNAi) drug for inhibiting the expression of the hepatitis B virus gene is described. The HBV RNAi agents disclosed herein can be targeted to cells such as hepatocytes, for example, by using a conjugated targeting ligand. Further described is a pharmaceutical composition comprising one or more HBV RNAi agents, optionally with one or more additional therapeutic agents.
