An illumination polarizer assembly can be configured to be user-attachable to an ophthalmological device and can be configured to position a first optical polarizer in an illumination portion of a light path associated with the ophthalmological device. An observation polarizer assembly can be configured to be user-attachable to the ophthalmological device and can also configured to position a second optical polarizer in an observation portion of the light path.
