PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored resin particle dispersion excellent in water resistance, as well as in marker resistance and rubfastness.SOLUTION: A colored resin particle dispersion is obtained by dispersing a dispersion phase comprising a nonaqueous solvent B, a dye, a resin, and an acidic dispersant into a continuous phase comprising a nonaqueous solvent A and a basic dispersant to prepare an oil-in-oil emulsion, wherein the nonaqueous solvent B has a solubility in the nonaqueous solvent A at 23°C of 3 g/100 g or less, and a boiling point lower than that of the nonaqueous solvent A; and removing the nonaqueous solvent B from the oil-in-oil emulsion by reducing pressure and/or heating. The basic dispersant has a higher solubility in the nonaqueous solvent A than in the nonaqueous solvent B, and the resin has a higher solubility in the nonaqueous solvent B than in the nonaqueous solvent A.
