PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cause of death estimation device and a cause of death estimation method therein for estimating the exact and detailed cause of death.SOLUTION: The cause of death estimation device includes: a diagnostic information acquisition part for acquiring diagnostic information based on the image data of a dead body； a disease and injury history acquisition part for acquiring the history of medical care of the dead body during lifetime； and a cause of death estimation part for estimating the immediate cause of death of the dead body and the factors involved therein based on the acquired medical care information and the history of medical care.【課題】正確かつ詳細な死亡原因を推定する死因推定装置およびその死因推定方法を提供する。【解決手段】本実施形態に係る死因推定装置は、遺体の画像データに基づいた診断情報を取得する診断情報取得部と、前記遺体に関連する生前の診療履歴を取得する傷病履歴取得部と、取得した前記診療情報と前記診療履歴に基づいて、前記遺体の直接死因とその原因とを推定する死因推定部と、を備える。【選択図】 図３
