The present invention relates to a method for increasing the expression of aquaporin in plants and an expression system comprising an aquaporin promoter. The present invention provides a protein expression system using the same, wherein the expression of aquaporin and the size of vacuole can be easily controlled by controlling the presence or absence of sugar, and the expression of aquaporin is controlled through molecularly biodegradable sugar-deficient conditions. The protein expression system may be useful for the expression and production of a desired protein.본 발명은 식물의 아쿠아포린의 발현을 증가시키는 방법 및 아쿠아포린 프로모터를 포함하는 발현 시스템에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 당의 유무를 조절하여 아쿠아포린의 발현 및 액포의 크기를 손쉽게 조절할 수 있으며, 또한 분자생물학적으로 당 결핍 조건 등을 통해 아쿠아포린의 발현이 조절됨을 확인함으로써 이를 이용한 단백질 발현 시스템을 제공하며, 상기 단백질 발현 시스템은 목적하는 단백질의 발현 및 생산에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
